When I started to dabble in garment sewing, I was well and truly confused by the simplest of sewing concepts and ideas.

I couldn't understand why my garments looked wrong... I kept sewing the wrong side to the right side! I couldn't understand why the flappy strip of fabric on the inside of the collar kept sticking out. 

 

The simplest of mistakes, because no one really defined the meaning of RS and that neck facings should be cut on the bias!

 

I am still a sewing beginner. But I don't limit myself to "beginner" sewing projects. At the end of the day, a sewing machine can only sew in one direction. Girl, if you can drive a car, sail a boat, built a website, how hard can sewing be!?
